It’s 2:30 a.m.
If you’ve ever dealt with insomnia, you know there’s nothing fun about it.
Your body is tired, but you’re not sleepy.
Your mind won’t shut off.
You toss and turn, trying to find a comfortable position to sleep in, but it doesn’t happen.
Sometimes you feel like you’re going to fall asleep.
And then you don’t.
And the cycle repeats, over and over.
Sometimes I read to try to get sleepy.
Sometimes I write to try to get sleepy.
Sometimes I do both…and neither work.
If you can relate, I’m sorry to say, welcome to the club.
Maybe we need to develop a secret handshake or something.
I sincerely hope you’re not reading this because you can’t get to sleep.
Oh, the irony.
I wish I could offer a solution.
I hope the sandman visits soon.
Be cool. Be kind.
